responding and a single frequency signal is emitted. When the signal
is detected by the receiver and when the signal meets all criteria
for generating an alarm, an alarm is triggered which alerts the
security and the staff present in the store. When a bill is paid,
such tags are suitably deactivated by the salesperson at the checkout
counter and thus no alarm is produced when the customers move out of
the store.
In case the tag which is used
is a hard tag, a suitable detacher is used so that the tag can be
reused. In case of a disposable tag like a sticker or label, the tag
can be easily swiped over the de-activator
pad to deactivate the tag. However, when such tag is not deactivated
as in the case of shoplifting or stealing of an item, an alarm will
be sounded as soon as the item is tried to be taken out of the store
and passed through the exit gate, thus alerting the security and the
staff present in the store.

store. When the receiver antenna picks up the signal from the label,
